Real Estate License Revalidation and Mutual Agreements With Hawaii

All Hawaii real estate licenses expire on the 31st of December every even-numbered year (e.g., December 31st, 2024, December 31st, 2026, etc.).

You must renew your license before this date.2 Otherwise, you will have to forfeit it on January 1st of the upcoming odd-numbered year (e.g., 2025, 2027, etc.).

What if you’re already a licensed real estate agent in another state?

Hawaii does not have mutual agreements or offer reciprocity with other states in the country. That means that existing agents have to take and pass the complete Hawaii Realty Commission pre-licensing course and exam before they can start working in their state.
